Co-op
Work Based Learning is an opportunity for seniors to receive practical experience in his/her career pathway . It can be in the form of a job or an internship.
A co-op student should obtain a job relative to his/her CTE pathway by September 15th.
There may be measures beyond control due to age or pathway constraints. (Example: Medical Field - must be 18 years old)
Co-op Requirements:
A student should have completed two credits in their pathway and be taking a 3rd credit to be eligible to co-op.
1. Purchase a parking tag
a. Tag must be displayed in your vehicle
Note: You will not be permitted to sign-out without purchasing a parking tag.
2. Attend school regularly (must not be truant): Violating the following will make you ineligible for Co-op.
a) 6 or more unexcused absences
b) 10 or more unexcused tardies
c) 3 or more skipped classes
3. You Must Be Transition Ready (100%) by the start of the 2nd semester.
Grading Procedure:
Note: CTE Pathway teacher may have different requirements than the MSHS Career Co-op. See Ignite South CTE Teacher and/or MSHS CTE Teacher if different than Career Co-op.
1) Complete all co-op evaluation and/or other assignments on time.
a. Evaluation must be turned in every 2 weeks
b. No late evaluation will be accepted after 11:59pm (Eastern Time) on the due dates.
c. Each evaluation will be worth 25 points
2) Must turn in a pay stub per evaluation
